Free Instagram comment-to-DM tools compared (2026, with India prices)

By the Blupi team · Updated

Short answer: most comment-to-DM tools have a free plan, but the limits differ a lot. Some cap DMs per month, some cap contacts, and some keep comment auto-replies for paid plans. The table below lists what each free plan includes and the cheapest paid plan, taken from each tool's own pricing page on 22 October 2026. Prices change, so check before you buy.

We make Blupi, one of the tools in this list. We've kept the comparison factual and included our own limits.

ManyChat's prices are from its help centre; its pricing page couldn't be loaded for this check. For ManyChat in rupees, see ManyChat pricing in India and ManyChat alternatives for India. None of the pricing pages mention GST. Indian buyers paying a foreign company in dollars usually see GST and their bank's currency conversion added on top, so the rupee price on your statement will be higher than a straight conversion.

What "free" usually leaves out

Read past the headline number. The limits that matter for comment-to-DM:

  • Comment auto-reply. Some free plans DM the commenter but don't post a public reply under the comment, or don't do comment triggers at all.
  • Contacts vs DMs. "25 contacts" (ManyChat) and "1,000 DMs" (LinkDM) are very different. One viral reel can bring hundreds of new commenters.
  • Branding. Free plans often add a line like "Sent with …" to your DMs.
  • Follow-to-unlock. Asking people to follow before they get the link is often a paid feature.
  • AI replies. Answering questions in your own words (not just a fixed message) is usually paid, where it exists.

What no tool can do (whatever the plan)

These limits come from Instagram, not from the tools:

  • DM all your followers. Instagram's API only lets a business message people who wrote to it, within 24 hours of their last message.
  • DM every new follower. Instagram's public API has no new-follower trigger. ManyChat runs a "Follow to DM" beta that Meta has approved for some accounts; access varies.
  • Unlimited DMs per comment. One comment allows one private reply, within 7 days. The chat continues only if the person replies.

If a tool promises any of these on its standard plan, ask how. Tools that ask for your Instagram password break Instagram's terms and put your account at risk.

How to pick

  1. Mostly in India and paying yourself? Look for INR pricing with UPI or Indian cards, so you aren't hit by currency conversion. SuperProfile, InstantDM, ReplyRush and Blupi show rupee prices, and Blupi's are tax-inclusive.
  2. Expecting viral reels? Avoid contact-capped free plans; a DM cap or unlimited plan goes further.
  3. Want public replies under comments? Check the free plan includes comment auto-reply; LinkDM and ReplyRush keep it for paid plans.
  4. Questions in the comments ("price?", "size?") are where AI replies help: they answer in your words instead of one fixed message.
  5. Check the connection. It should be "Log in with Instagram" (the official API). Never give an app your password.

Where Blupi fits

Blupi is built for Indian creators and small brands. The free plan has no DM cap: one Instagram account, unlimited automations, DMs and public replies, with a small "Sent with Blupi" line. Pro is ₹99 for the first month, then ₹499 a month (or ₹3,999 a year, GST included), and adds AI replies to comments and DMs, follow-to-unlock, more accounts and no Blupi line. Sign-up is open: start free with Google, no card needed.

Questions

Is there a completely free comment-to-DM tool?

Several tools have free plans that send comment-to-DM messages, within monthly limits. Zorcha's free plan advertises unlimited automations, messages and contacts; SuperProfile's offers unlimited AutoDMs on reels and posts with a 10-lead cap; Blupi's has unlimited automations and DMs on one account.

Is ManyChat available in rupees?

ManyChat lists its prices in US dollars, and the final amount appears at checkout. We didn't find an INR price list.

Will I get banned for using a comment-to-DM tool?

Tools that connect through Instagram's official API ("Log in with Instagram") and only reply to people who commented or messaged you follow Meta's rules for automated messaging. The risky ones ask for your password.

Can I switch tools later?

Yes. Your automations don't carry over, but your followers and DMs stay in Instagram. Turn the old tool's automations off first, so two tools don't reply to the same comment.
